Cocoa was reasonably stable during the first half of August, however in the latter half of the month prices firmed above 1950 levels.

PRICE INCREASES

Following the increases in Sugar and associated prices since the beginning of the year, the increases in Coventional and Organic Sugars announced in our last couple of Newsletters, we have to announce that prices for the following products are also increasing from 1st October.

The Glucose producers never miss an opportunity and so they are increasing their prices on the basis that a lot of Glucose is used to partially replace sugar, and so historically they pitch prices just below sugar levels.

The impact of the changes effect all Sugar & Glucose containing products:-

MALLOWS - increases by c. 5-7%

FONDANT - increases by c.35%

GLUCOSE - increases by c15-20%

INVERTS & Other Syrups - increases by c.15-20%  

Please note these increases will be applied for deliveries on and from 1st October

I am afraid that these increases are outside our control, obviously we do try to minimise the impact of these changes as far as is possible.
