Pidy Pricing

Pidy have been reviewing their cost of production line by line and this has led to some price adjustments, - most prices have stayed the same as now, but for those that have changed, prices have mainly moved up but some are down, all with effect from 1st September 2012.

Latest Addition to the HB Ingredients Team

HB Ingredients was given this cocoa tree as a gift from a good friend and customer, Sophie from York Cocoa House.

This tree was grown from bean in the UK at the International Cocoa Quarantine Centre, which is conducting research around the sustainability of growing cocoa and climate change.

'Colin' as our tree is now affectionately known, is an Amelonado tree of the Forastero variety.

The challenge we have now is keeping him alive, which will require some creative gardening skills at HB Ingredients headquarters. Let's see who has green fingers?

Speciality Fine Food Fair, 2nd-4th September 2012


HB Ingredients is one of the official partners of the UK Heat of the World Chocolate Masters 2012. This year it is being held at the Speciality Fine Food Fair on 2nd-4th September 2012.

As we are one of the official partners, we have a stand within the World Chocolate Masters Competition Booth.

The theme of the competition is 'The Architecture of Taste' and this will need to be reflected in all creations. Contestants will be required to produce over a three day period, a large chocolate showpiece, a chocolate layered cake, a moulded praline/moulded bonbon and a gastronomic chocolate dessert.

Cake and Bake Show 22nd and 23rd September 2012

HB Ingredients will be exhibiting at the Cake and Bake Show at Earls Court on 22nd and 23rd September 2012. We will be showcasing our Ingredients Pantry range, which is a range of products available in manageable pack sizes and ideal for the artisanal producer and serious homebaker. Alot of the range is also suitable for the Foodservice sector, decorating desserts and ice creams. The product range will include mini natural chocolate beans, gold and silver decoballs, chocolate splitters and pink glimmer sugar pearls.

Deliveries over the Olympic Games

As mentioned in previous newsletters, our parcel carrier Interlink are implementing surcharges on deliveries during the Olympic Games. However, we have decided to absorb these costs to give our customers the least disruption as possible.

We are doing all we can to ensure our normal quick deliveries are maintained in all areas affected by the Olympics, but some may suffer slight delays. Click here for the specific postcodes and dates this applies to.

Additionally, Olympic lockdown areas ( Venues and Official hotels ) can only be accessed by UPS who are charging a fortune for delivery so we have made the difficult decision not to deliver to them. But if you need any further information, please contact a member of our Customer Service Team.
