European Economic Situation

As we have been reporting in recent Newsletters – and also as per this month's Commodity Report, price volatility is having significant impacts on raw material prices going into 2011.

In summary – and if you currently purchase any of the following products, you need to be aware of pending changes which will be occurring from now onwards

Chocolate - Prices easing, although Barry Callebaut decreases are less than others.

Cocoa Powder - Availability and price still very firm and expected to remain so until mid 2011.

Sugars - Unprecedented situation with availability very tight and as a result prices are firming rapidly, especially for Granulated and other white sugars. Price will change from week to week.

Organic & Unrefined Sugars – World price levels will impact on these and prices are firmer, although not escalating as much as whites.

Dextrose - Availability currently almost non-existent and where obtainable prices are up by around 50%. We do have limited supply....

Glucose & Starches – Prices up by around £80-100, Organic Cereal Syrups also impacted and prices for 2011 are higher.

Mallows - Prices held until 1st March, but will be increasing substantially due to above raw material increases. The same applies to all sugar & starch containing products from January.

HB Ingredients Christmas Charity Donations

As we did last year, we will not be sending Chritmas cards, but instead will be making a donation to charities.

During these exceptional weather conditions there is the possibility that our normal next day delivery service maybe affected, as unfortunately this situation will be out of our control.

We suggest that you increase your orders so that this situation does not potentially leave you short of stock.

As we have such an extensive range of products, we will now be featuring certain products or ranges each month. This month's featured products are fruit and nuts. HB Ingredients Christmas Shutdown

Last orders will be dispatched from our warehouse by 12 noon on Wednesday 22nd December, although we cannot guarantee that they will be delivered before the Christmas/New Year holiday begins.

To guarantee delivery before the Christmas/New Year holiday orders must be placed before noon on Friday 17th December.

Our normal service, ie orders placed before 12 noon being delivered the following day, will resume on Tuesday January 4th 2011.

During the period between Christmas and New Year, we will be checking our e-mails and any messages left on our answerphone.
