This month marks a significant event in the company's history, in that Henley Bridge Ingredients Ltd was established 10 years ago and the company was incorporated on 28th July 1998.
In order to mark this milestone, and to share this with all our valued customers, we are holding our existing prices for the month of July thus delaying the pending increases until 1st August. As most chocolate is increasing by up to 22%, this will hopefully be helpful to a lot of our customers.
A lot has happened in those ten years, and the company has continued to grow from that modest start to now being a well established supplier of Food Ingredients and also the largest Independent UK Supplier of chocolate.
We continue to grow every year and now employ 20 people, servicing customers throughout the UK. We hold stocks of over 90% of our product range with orders received for stock items by noon, being despatched for next day delivery nationally - by pallet or parcel. We operate from 7,000sq ft part temperature controlled warehouses & offices in Uckfield and run 2 x 7.5t lorries and 2 vans which serve our local customers. We offer around 600 products to over 800 active customers and our turnover is now in excess of £5m pa. We try to be a ‘one stop shop' for our core customers – Chocolatiers, Ice Cream, Artisan Biscuit & Bakeries as well as specialist Foodservice Distributors (we ourselves do not supply hotels & restaurants, so we never conflict with any of our customers) and we also supply Multinationals with specific products such as Inclusions & Decor, we are Organic & Fair Trade certified and later this year we will achieve BRC Accreditation for Storage & Distribution.
2008 is significant for us as we have also outgrown our existing SAGE system and have now purchased Exchequer Software and a CRM system. Therefore we ‘go live' from Monday 4th August and will be closed on Friday 1st August for the final data transfer! Fingers crossed!
Obviously the current economic situation is very difficult and the coming months will be challenging for companies and individuals alike.
