New Prices as from 1st July 2010

As we reported in the last Newsletter, the recently announced Price Increases are now being implemented with effect for all deliveries from 1st July 2010.

The level of increases for mainstream chocolate from Barry Callebaut and Belcolade are thankfully not as significant as first thought, the headline increases being for:-

Plain and Extra Bitter Chocolate increases of 4-7%

Cocoa Powder - increases of 20%

Chocolate El Rey- annual price review so the increase covers the last 12 months of Cocoa Inflation

OBVIOUSLY WE STRONGLY RECOMMEND THAT YOU PLAN TO BRING FORWARD JULY and AUGUST ORDERS INTO JUNE, ALSO CONSIDER BUILDING STOCKS. ORDERS NEED TO HAVE BEEN DELIVERED AND THEREFORE INVOICED BY THE JUNE MONTH END

6th Annual Chocolate Conference 12th July

HB Ingredients will be co-sponsoring, with the Home Chocolate Factory, the 6th Annual Chocolate Conference, to be held at Westminster Kingsway College, on 12th July.

With 6 speakers representing different aspects of the world of chocolate, plus a Sunday evening networking event that includes a meal where you can exchange views with like minded people, this is a "not to be missed" opportunity.

We are delaying the launch of our new website, which will bring you a select range of "Origin" and "Origin made within Origin" (manufactured from bean to bar in the country that grows the bean), as we will be announcing some exciting news in our July Newsletter.

The main focus of this website will be towards the provenance of the products, enabling our customers to know with conviction that this is ethically produced chocolate.
