As we have mentioned in our previous Newsletter, Cocoa prices are down and so we are pleased to confirm that we now have actual prices per product shortly available.

In broad terms, the price reductions are as follows:-

Cacao Barry
Extra Bitter
No Change
No Change
No Change

The Barry Callebaut reductions are less due to the fact that for the current period they have been running a 6 month promotion that reduced actual prices.

Sugar supply and therefore prices are becoming a big problem and we expect that we will have to follow the market up with price hikes from 1st January. We will confirm this in the December Newsletter.

Glucose and Starch containing product prices are now up at the new higher levels.


We are pleased to annouce the addition of a selection of high strength culinary alcohols to enhance our portfolio. These alcohols include Cognac, Brandy, Amaretto, Whisky, Kirsch, Marc de Champagne and Rum as well as a Pear and a Raspberry liqueur. They are all available in 2 litre food grade plastic containers, with a specification and are already in stock.
Culinary alcohol can be applied to almost any host food product to give a more premium, higher quality perception and has numerous advantages - it adds quality, and a premium positioning to many different foodstuffs. It can enhance flavour, add seasonality, extend shelf life, preserve, tenderise, provide a reassurance of quality and a unique point of difference. 

We have also sourced a new range of cherries in alcohol -Guinettes, Parissiennes and Montomeorency Cherries, as well as raspberries in liquour also available in food grade plastic - in sizes of 1 or 2 litres.

HB Ingredients Christmas Shutdown

HB Ingredients will officially close at 2pm on Thursday 23rd December and re-open on Tuesday 4th January 2011.
Although we will be closed we will still have skeleton staff on during the shut down for any emergency orders.
