Price and Mallow Update

As per the last Newsletter, prices increased with effect from 1st October for:-

Fondants, Syrups, Mallows and some Nuts & Dried Fruits.

The Mallow situation is very difficult, following a fire which destroyed most of the Astra production facility in Holland last month. However they have been able to outsource some production, so we do expect to resume some sort of normal availability for Mini Mallows shortly. Micro Mallows are unavailable for the time being - watch this space for news….

DGF Industries France

From the 1st September 2011, HB Ingredients, www.hbingredients.co.uk, have been appointed as DGF Industries France's sole distributor for England and Wales. There will be a three months transition period, until 1st January 2012, where the previous distributor, will also be stocking DGF products.

We are establishing a core range of products that we will hold in stock, enabling us to give our usual next day delivery service on these products. However we are able to offer the whole DGF range of products, with a delivery time of about 10 days on non-stock products. Over the coming months we will be adding to our core range, depending on our customers' requirements.

DGF Industries is the world leader in the creation, marketing and distribution of high quality ingredients for culinary professionals. It was founded and has established a first class reputation based on culinary expertise, as exemplified by the quality and depth of its product range.

This range consists of speciality and basic ingredients for the Food Service sector and artisanal users. They also have a large range of products suitable for larger and multi-national manufacturers.

Eight companies in the chocolate and cocoa industry – ADM, Barry Callebaut, Cargill, Ferrero, The Hershey Company, Kraft Foods, Mars, Incorporated, and Nestlé – have pledged US $2 million to a new Public-Private Partnership (PPP) with the International Labour Office (ILO) to combat child labour in cocoa growing communities in Ghana and Côte d'Ivoire.
